Preparation Before Doing Fly Fishing

For the training session, it is advisable to use the rod with a size 8-10. If you only have a size 7, it can also be used, but I do not recommend that you use a smaller size, we recommend to use a larger size. Fishing rod with a length of 9 to 9 1/2 feet is ideal.

Basically, all modern rod made of graphite material designed for use at sea, is very adequate to use for practice. In general, all rod for sea fishing on the market (including models for beginners) can throw the yarn weight-forward fly species as far as 90 feet. The most important factor in choosing a rod is how the tool can be handy when you use it.

Start the session your fly fishing exercise with heating, with doing movement a back cast as much as dozens or more as far as 40 feet. For a good fly-casting requires muscle memory. With continue to train a back cast, you begin to build the muscle memory .
Ideally, your training sessions only one hour, but keep in mind, every exercise is more important than no training at all.

In exercise fly-casting, reels you are using will not make a difference that much. Make sure that you have filled reels with thread full backing to suit its capacity. This will prevent the thread into tiny curls. And also make sure that your reel is heavy enough to balance the rod. Using the reels that are too light for the rod will cause you maintain your rod tip to facing up, and your arms will consequently under pressure.
To make it more clearly you can watch the following video fly fishing.
